“Bob Kern and his expert crew are the “go-to-guys” for any hunt in the world - period! The team at the Hunting Consortium are the most experienced professionals in the hunting travel industry today. They have made my many hunting trips easier and smoother, not to mention successful. I trust their candid, straight forward advice and appreciate their personalized service. Sue and I think of them as family!”
-Ray Paolucci

“Wherever in the world my hunting dreams take me, I know that Corey and Bob will have everything well-organized. Their amazing knowledge and continuous research has put me in a position to take some truly extraordinary trophies, with the very best guides in the hunting world today. Nobody knows more about the game and the world of hunting than these guys and the travel team at the Hunting Consortium is unlike any I have ever used. They know from personal experience how to get someone into and out of the most remote places in the world and they keep up with the ever-changing regulations concerning hunting, firearms and travel options. This is the most “can-do” team I have ever worked with in hunting! They have risked their reputation and their very lives to blaze your trail. If you’re not booking with The Hunting Consortium, it’s most likely your loss and someone else’s gain. You sure can’t do any better - their word is good!”
-Lary Knowlton

“With so many hunts out there in the world, you can’t know them all, but Bob Kern does. I have hunted and fished on 6 continents over the past 20 years through the Hunting Consortium and have enjoyed every trip. He has never sent me to a bad one. I can’t say the same for the trips that I have arranged myself. I run a large company, with little time for the details that Bob’s experienced staff handles smoothly and completely. I go about my busy schedule until it’s time to get on the airplane and then do so confident that the upcoming adventure is planned with military precision and a thorough knowledge of the game and hunting area. The more experienced I become at worldwide hunting, the more certain I am to book every hunt through the Hunting Consortium.”
-Paul Dickson

“For almost two decades now, I have asked Bob and Rob Kern to provide me with the best international hunts on planet earth. They have always came through and provided me with some of the most exciting adventures that I have had in my career.”

Central African Republic

The Central African Republic (C.A.R.), is a huge country approximately the size of Texas. It lies between the Oubangui River to the south and the Aouk River to the north, with forested area in the south, transitioning towards true savannah along the Chad border in the north. Inhabited by fewer than four million people, of which about a third live in or around the capital of Banqui, the majority of the country is literally unoccupied. This is one of the last true wilderness hunting areas in Africa. As the C.A.R. encompasses two distinct ecosystems – the tropical rain forest and the savannah – two types of safaris can be had there. We are pleased to represent three of the leading safari companies operating in the C.A.R., offering both forest (jungle) hunts, savannah hunts and combination safaris, which spend time in both areas.

Service is of a high standard. Camps usually consist of permanent rondavels, or huts made out of natural materials, equipped with private showers and flush toilets. Electricity is provided by generator. In French tradition, the meals are excellent served by a well-trained staff.
It is in the C.A.R. that Africa’s largest antelope, the giant, or Lord Derby’s eland, reaches maximum size and this is the most sought after trophy of the savannah. Savannah safaris are conducted from December until May.

The primary quarry of the forest is the Western bongo. Forest hunts are undertaken from April through June. Those companies who have concessions in several areas, or areas that have both gallery forest and savannah habitat, can conduct combination safaris, in which both forest game and savannah game can be hunted. These safaris must be longer in order to provide sufficient hunting time to collect the required bag from the different ecosystems.
