TURKMENISTAN

This thinly populated country, once part of the Soviet Union, stretches from the Caspian Sea, along the Kopet Dagh Mountains, which border Iran, to the rugged mountains which form the border to Uzbekistan and Afghanistan to the East and South. Home to the largest population of Transcaspian urial sheep in Central Asia, Turkmenistan also has huntable herds of Persian Goitered gazelle, Bezoar ibex and Afghan urial sheep. Bukharan markhor, Asian leopard and striped hyenas are also found in good numbers, but are protected.

The Hunting Consortium Ltd. was instrumental in opening Turkmenistan to hunting tourism and our clients were the very first sport hunters to hunt there, guided personally by Bob Kern. We are pleased to offer hunts for all huntable species in Turkmenistan and the most experienced guides available.

Largest and most beautiful of the Urial family of sheep, this handsome animal is found in several areas in Turkmenistan.

Bezoar Ibex

Found throughout the Kopet Dagh Mountains, the Bezoar ibex (goat) is challenging to hunt.
