Canada
Second largest country in the world, boasting the world’s longest coastline, Canada has less than 30 million inhabitants, making it one of the least populated places on earth. It is home to the largest tracts of unsettled boreal forest and barren ground tundra in the western hemisphere and harbors stable populations of more big game species than any other country in the Americas, some found nowhere else. From the dense evergreen forests of Newfoundland to the sweeping plains of Manitoba and Saskatchewan, to the rugged slopes of the Rocky and Coastal Mountain ranges of Alberta, British Columbia and the Yukon, to the frozen Arctic of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut, Canada offers the adventurous hunter limitless opportunity to immerse himself in the natural wilderness, far from civilization.
Canada is home to six species and subspecies of caribou, four species of moose, five species and subspecies of wild sheep and three bears. It also offers the only opportunities in the world today to hunt the Arctic species polar bear and walrus, as well as two species of muskox and barren ground grizzly. It is the best country in North America for a mixed bag of big game trophies to be taken in a single trip, and perhaps for that reason, Canada hosts more international hunters each year than any other country in North America.
Wingshooting in Canada is also legendary. Migratory flights in their millions of geese and ducks traverse the Great Plains of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba every year treating traveling sportsmen to unbelievable sights and sounds, as well as some of the best waterfowl gunning in the world. In the Atlantic Coastal Maritimes of Labrador and Newfoundland sea duck shooting is at its finest and collectors come from around the world in search of Eider, Harlequin and Long-tailed ducks.
The Hunting Consortium team has hunted and traveled throughout Canada for more than 50 years. We represent more than 20 outfitters and operators across this great country, all of whom we know personally and all of whom have long track records for successful operations and high quality outfitting skill and service. Some are multilingual. All are among the best that Canada has to offer. We have also amassed tremendous experience in the various hunting areas and biotopes of Canada, enabling us to provide expert advice on when to hunt a particular species and where the best trophies will be found.
Canada is also renowned for its fabulous fishing, especially for northern pike and lake trout. Five star lodges and expert guides make places like Great Bear Lake and Great Slave Lake icons in the history and lore of freshwater angling in North America. Our sister company Kraken Worldwide specializes in selecting outstanding fishing venues throughout Canada.
