“With so many hunts out there in the world, you can’t know them all, but Bob Kern does. I have hunted and fished on 6 continents over the past 20 years through the Hunting Consortium and have enjoyed every trip. He has never sent me to a bad one. I can’t say the same for the trips that I have arranged myself. I run a large company, with little time for the details that Bob’s experienced staff handles smoothly and completely. I go about my busy schedule until it’s time to get on the airplane and then do so confident that the upcoming adventure is planned with military precision and a thorough knowledge of the game and hunting area. The more experienced I become at worldwide hunting, the more certain I am to book every hunt through the Hunting Consortium.” -Paul Dickson
“The Hunting Consortium is the “go-to-team” for any hunt in the world - period! Their staff are the most experienced professionals in the hunting industry. They have made my many hunting trips easier and smoother, not to mention successful. I trust their candid, straight forward advice and appreciate their personalized service. Sue and I think of them as family!” -Ray Paolucci
"Bob Kern and the staff at The Hunting Consortium are great! I have collected ALL of the argali sheep of the world with Bob’s expert help. He and his staff have explored extensively in Asia to help me find the very best areas for the sheep I wanted. This has resulted in several World Records. Their organization is the best I have ever seen!". -Hubert Thummler
“Wherever in the world my hunting dreams take me, I know that Corey and Bob will have everything well-organized. Their amazing knowledge and continuous research has put me in a position to take some truly extraordinary trophies, with the very best guides in the hunting world today. Nobody knows more about the game and the world of hunting than these guys and the travel team at the Hunting Consortium is unlike any I have ever used. They know from personal experience how to get someone into and out of the most remote places in the world and they keep up with the ever-changing regulations concerning hunting, firearms and travel options. This is the most “can-do” team I have ever worked with in hunting! They have risked their reputation and their very lives to blaze your trail. If you’re not booking with The Hunting Consortium, it’s most likely your loss and someone else’s gain. You sure can’t do any better - their word is good!” -Lary Knowlton
“Dear Bob and The Hunting Consortium Family,As an avid hunter for the past 35 plus years, I want to say thank you to you and your staff. After seeing your advertisements on several hunting television shows, I gave Bob a call and we hit it off right away. Since then I have booked several hunts with you guys, and killed several really nice game animals. The Outfitters were always first rate as Bob said they would be. You guys have sent me to a lot of amazingly beautiful places and have met several really nice people. I have hunted with most of the outfitters more than once, through you guys. The Hunting Consortium handles everything from booking the hunts, buying the necessary licenses and permits, to booking flights and hotel rooms.I just want to say thanks again, and I plan on traveling the world hunting several other game species with The Hunting Consortium in the future.” -Rodney Moncrief
"During the past 5 years the Hunting Consortium has been the most invaluable resource a hunter could ask for.I have averaged over 150 hunting days in that time and many, if not most of those days were booked through The Hunting Consortium. Their knowledge and experience is unmatched in the hunting industry. I have always been pleased with the quality of the outfitters and the professional hunter’s and guides that Hunting Consortium have booked for me. I’ve hunted in Africa over a dozen times on hunts booked by the Hunting Consortium and every time I felt like I was hunting the premier area with one of the best outfitters and knowledgeable, helpful professional hunters. In Africa I have taken 158 different animals I couldn’t have accomplished that without the Hunting Consortium. I was on a hunting trip for over 6 weeks in the South Pacific which included a family vacation with my adult children and hunted with 5 different outfitters in 6 different areas in both New Zealand and Australia - a LOGISTICAL NIGHTMARE that the Hunting Consortium handled without a hitch. I finished that trip by hunting all of the species available to hunt in these locations besides one. EXTRAORDINARY SUCCESS on a single trip. The achievement I am most proud of though is my 21 day hunt in Spain where I took every animal that is currently available to hunt. Considering that the 7 Capra species were all free-range, this was very challenging but the Hunting Consortium put me in the best areas with best outfitters." -Rick Warren
“I and my family owe many thanks to Bob, Margarete, Rob and the expert staff at the Hunting Consortium for so many memorable hunts in so many countries. It is hard to believe, but every hunt and trip has been characterized by the same qualities - superior service, with a can-do attitude, excellent operators, all arrangements on time and fulfilling everything promised. This is a great organization! I am looking forward to my next hunt with the Hunting Consortium.” -Francisco Vizcaino Gutierrez
“Best in the business! I have entrusted more than 20 major hunts on 6 continents to Bob and his team at the Hunting Consortium and they have never failed me. Their knowledge and experience has been a great help to me. I can rely on them to know the best operator and the best area for every hunt I want to do and they handle the visas, gun permits, air tickets, hotels, and every other detail - it is a one-stop shop for me, allowing me to focus on my medical practice while Bob and his staff “make it happen” for my hunting trips around the world. They do EVERYTHING, and they do it really well!” -Dr. Brad Black

Introduction to Red Stag Hunting:
No other species of big game has captured hunters hearts to the degree that the red stag has. Once the exclusive sport of the kings of Europe, this species is now available to everyone. The red stag is found throughout Europe into the Caucasus Mountains of Russia, and into forests of the middle East including Turkey and Iran. It is also found as far east as Kazakhstan and Tajikistan in Central Asia – and one subspecies even occurs in central China. Exported as an exotic to South and North America and to the South Pacific, no other big game animal provides as much enjoyment to more hunters. It is the third largest deer in the world, after moose and wapiti.
The Hunting Consortium offers a great variety of hunting programs for red stag, including all of the huntable subspecies of this great game animal, on all the continents where it is found.
Hunting Red Stag in Europe:
The Hunting Consortium was founded in Europe. Bob and Margarete Kern lived in Europe for more than 20 years and Rob grew up there. Hunting Consortium still maintains a small office in Germany, and full-time staff in several countries. Hunting Consortium provides the largest portfolio of European hunting options for red stags of any hunting company or agency in the world; with over 40 years of experience arranging stag hunts in Europe – nobody knows Europe like the Hunting Consortium!
Europe is the home of the red stag and the largest trophies have always come from Europe. The best red stag hunting today is found in Romania, Hungary and Austria. Romania is the wildest and cheapest, with regard to free-range hunting. Hungary and Austria offer the largest trophies and excellent lodges and sightseeing options. Croatia is a good compromise for high quality and mid-level prices. Some private estates in Austria offer enormous trophies each season. [The blood line in Austria tends to yield many times, instead of the typical heavy mass and fewer tines of Eastern European red stags, therefore red stags taken in Austria usually score very well under SCI rules.]
The best time to hunt red stags in Europe is during the rut, which usually takes place in mid-September. Red stags can be successfully hunted as late as December, for those who cannot get away in early fall.
The Hunting Consortium’s staff has spent many years traveling, exploring and hunting in Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia. They personally know every operator and outfitter that they represent and are thoroughly familiar with all the better hunting areas.
Hunting Red Stag in New Zealand:
For red stag hunts New Zealand has earned a superlative reputation for delivering great trophies and excellent, personalized service, in breathtakingly beautiful surroundings, at a reasonable cost. Although the red stag is an exotic species in New Zealand, having been released there more than 100 years ago, this venue produces some of the finest red stag heads taken in the world each year. The Hunting Consortium represents one the finest operators on that island nation.
In New Zealand red stags and other deer can be hunted wild and free in the mountains, where average trophies can be expected, or in well-managed game ranches, where enormous trophies can be had. Many of the ranchers there have invested millions of dollars in breeding stock from Europe and in enriching the already superior habitat to make it ideal for red stags. Excellent fallow deer and American wapiti can also be hunted on some of these ranches.
New Zealand is best hunted from March through August, which is fall and winter in the South Pacific.
The red stags of Argentina are generally not as big as those you will find in Europe and in New Zealand. The prices, however, are very reasonable, the people very friendly, and the food and amenities superb. Hunts for red stag in Argentina can easily be combined with hunts for other exotic and native species and with the finest hot-barrel wing shooting in the world, as well as superb fishing for dorado, trout and other fish. The Hunting Consortium is proud to represent several of the finest and most experienced operators in Argentina and Chile.
