“Wherever in the world my hunting dreams take me, I know that Corey and Bob will have everything well-organized. Their amazing knowledge and continuous research has put me in a position to take some truly extraordinary trophies, with the very best guides in the hunting world today. Nobody knows more about the game and the world of hunting than these guys and the travel team at the Hunting Consortium is unlike any I have ever used. They know from personal experience how to get someone into and out of the most remote places in the world and they keep up with the ever-changing regulations concerning hunting, firearms and travel options. This is the most “can-do” team I have ever worked with in hunting! They have risked their reputation and their very lives to blaze your trail. If you’re not booking with The Hunting Consortium, it’s most likely your loss and someone else’s gain. You sure can’t do any better - their word is good!”
-Lary Knowlton

“With so many hunts out there in the world, you can’t know them all, but Bob Kern does. I have hunted and fished on 6 continents over the past 20 years through the Hunting Consortium and have enjoyed every trip. He has never sent me to a bad one. I can’t say the same for the trips that I have arranged myself. I run a large company, with little time for the details that Bob’s experienced staff handles smoothly and completely. I go about my busy schedule until it’s time to get on the airplane and then do so confident that the upcoming adventure is planned with military precision and a thorough knowledge of the game and hunting area. The more experienced I become at worldwide hunting, the more certain I am to book every hunt through the Hunting Consortium.”
-Paul Dickson

“Bob Kern and the team at The Hunting Consortium are the “A-Team” of international hunting in the world today! I depend on Bob’s intensive research and the exceptional experience that he and the members of his staff have accumulated working in the farthest reaches of the hunting world. My own business occupies most of my time, so I depend on Bob to keep me abreast of the latest developments in hunting and to get my trips right the first time, every time. They have never let me down!”
-Jon Arn

“During the past 5 years the Hunting Consortium has been the most invaluable resource a hunter could ask for. I have averaged over 150 hunting days in that time and many, if not most of those days were booked through The Hunting Consortium. Their knowledge and experience is unmatched in the hunting industry. I have always been pleased with the quality of the outfitters and the professional hunter’s and guides that Hunting Consortium have booked for me. I’ve hunted in Africa over a dozen times on hunts booked by the Hunting Consortium and every time I felt like I was hunting the premier area with one of the best outfitters and knowledgeable, helpful professional hunters. I’ve taken 158 different animals from Africa and I couldn’t have accomplished that without the Hunting Consortium.”

Africa

No other continent on earth has captivated hunters’ hearts as has Africa, for no other continent can boast the richness or diversity of game, or the uniqueness in hunting experience. The “dark” continent, with its myriad of ecosystems and biotypes has been the “Mecca” for big game hunters for more than 200 years. The Hunting Consortium offers a full range African safari options in 16 African countries and our staff has personally hunted and or visited every concession or area we recommend.

The best years are passing now for this hunting paradise. Exploding human populations across Africa are consuming more and more land for agriculture and settlement. Dangerous game has been pushed into ever shrinking reserves or simply exterminated by governments to make way for the ever growing numbers of people and livestock. Areas that just 10 years ago saw herds of buffalo numbering in thousands are now devoid of game and the trend continues. The times have already drastically changed since the days of Theodore Roosevelt, Robert Ruark, and Ernest Hemingway. These are the last of the “good old days”!

Since 1978, The Hunting Consortium has been arranging African safaris for a wide variety of customers, from middle-income “once in a lifetime” hunters, to wealthy collectors who hunt every season in Africa. We pride ourselves in giving expert advice geared to individual requirements and in tailoring every safari to the needs and goals of each client. The Hunting Consortium Ltd. has owned safari companies in Tanzania and South Africa and is thoroughly familiar with the intricacies of the hunting industry in Africa. We are uniquely qualified to navigate the sometimes bewildering plethora of offers and options for hunting safaris present in the marketplace today. We know personally every operator we recommend and we visit the concessions frequently to keep our information current.

Knowledge – Working long hours, full-time, in the hunting and fishing industry, experienced consultants uncover and accumulate information no amateur sportsman would be exposed to. Real consultants are not just booking agents. Knowing which areas to hunt or fish, which operator to use for a particular quest and when to go for the highest chance of success, is the essence of our craft. (Beware of part-timers, they are really just amateurs in disguise.)

Experience – A good consultant’s experience allows him to edit the multitude of offerings in the marketplace, selecting precisely the right option to suit the individual taste and desires of each client. Bob Kern and his experienced staff have hunted in more than 50 countries throughout the world, over the span of more than 50 years. Bob has personally collected over 160 species of big game (over 500 trophies). They spend much of every year visiting hunting and fishing destinations, exploring remote territories, speaking with operators, old and new, and evaluating ever-changing conditions. They are the more experienced outdoor adventure team in the world today.

Insider Information – Consultants receive confidential information involving the financial stability of operators, pending new game regulations, and a host of other technical issues continuously. This, information is used to temper recommendations and guide clients’ decisions.

Advocacy – Every operator wants to fill his camps and sell his harvest quota. The consultant’s objective, on the other hand, is to please and serve his clients. If a dispute should arise between an operator and a client, an experienced consultant can often use his leverage to obtain an equitable solution. A customer can only represent his individual position to any operator, but the consultant represents the voices of many clients and can elevate any issue to market-wide exposure, when necessary.

Service – The staff at The Hunting Consortium routinely procures visas, firearm permits, and other travel documents, as well as issuing air tickets, making hotel reservations, and performing a host of other services to make travel easier and more interesting for clients. They also construct complex sightseeing programs to compliment any hunt.

The disappointment over a bad experience lingers long after the joy over the low cost has faded.
