The 23rd Annual GSCO Convention is advertised for January 23–24, 2027, in Nashville, Tennessee, with GSCO Super Sunday on January 24. It takes place alongside Safari Club International’s January 20–23 convention at Music City Center—not as five interchangeable days of GSCO exhibitions. Grand Slam Club
That distinction matters when arranging flights, choosing admission options, and deciding which functions deserve your time. A departure after SCI closes on Saturday would miss GSCO’s dedicated Sunday program.
This guide brings together the GSCO 2027 Convention event information needed to plan attendance: dates, registration, awards, auctions, accommodations, and the practical differences between the two organizations’ activities.
The current planning details are:

SCI’s published calendar places the GSCO dinner awards banquet on Sunday from 6:30–9 p.m. Central time, with attire described as “Music City Cocktail/Gala.” Reconfirm this listing before departure. Safari Club International Convention
Do not assume that every GSCO function uses the dinner ballroom. Consult the final program for lunch arrangements, seminar rooms, check-in instructions, and any additional activities.
Grand Slam Club/Ovis brings together hunters whose interests extend from North American big game to the wild sheep and goats of the world. The original Grand Slam Club was founded in 1956; its merger with Ovis, Inc. followed in 2001. Its stated purposes combine documentation of legally taken hunting milestones with support for wildlife populations and responsible hunting. Grand Slam Club
Its recognition programs give the convention a particular character. The Grand Slam concerns North American wild sheep. The Ovis World Slam recognizes at least 12 qualifying wild mountain sheep, while the Capra World Slam requires 12 different species or subspecies from GSCO’s recognized categories. Grand Slam Club
These are documented accomplishments, often representing years of preparation and demanding days afield. The convention provides a setting to recognize that commitment without separating the achievement from the wildlife and country that make it possible.
For an attendee, understanding those traditions makes the awards program considerably more meaningful than a list of presentations.
The broader SCI exhibition brings together professional hunters, outfitters, equipment manufacturers, and other industry participants. Safari Club International Convention
Use those conversations deliberately. Arrive with a few international hunting destinations or species in mind, then ask about the actual hunting area, physical demands, guiding arrangements, and timing. Clear answers are more useful than a crowded collection of brochures.
GSCO’s Sunday registration materials list lunch and dinner awards banquets. The dinner program includes Grand Slam, Ovis World Slam, and Capra World Slam recognition; the lunch program includes North American milestones and youth awards. grandslamclub.org
An important deadline precedes the convention: November 1, 2026, for 2027 Trophy Award entries and hunting-milestone submissions for the convention’s awards videos. These are separate recognition processes. Submit the appropriate documentation rather than assuming banquet registration places an achievement in the program. Grand Slam Club
GSCO’s conservation work provides substance behind the gathering. In June 2025, GSCO and KUIU Conservation Direct supported a Nevada Department of Wildlife operation that relocated 139 desert bighorn sheep from drought-affected habitat. Grand Slam Club
That is a useful example of the work to examine when considering conservation support: a defined wildlife problem, professional management, and a measurable field outcome. GSCO’s stated priorities also include habitat improvement and wildlife water projects. Grand Slam Club
GSCO’s auction platform lists its 2027 convention live auction for January 24, but the lots were not yet published when this guide was checked. Review the final descriptions, exclusions, and bidder-approval requirements before participating. SlamQuest Auctions
A separate membership-drive drawing offers $25,000 to use with a 2027 GSCO Supporting Outfitter. GSCO lists qualifying joins or upgrades, a January 24, 2027, deadline at 5 p.m., and no requirement to attend to win. Review the membership-drive terms for eligibility and restrictions; do not assume a convention ticket includes entry. Grand Slam Club
Use GSCO’s dedicated 2027 registration page for Sunday banquet arrangements. Published individual prices are $195 for lunch and $250 for dinner; reserved tables include eight tickets. Confirm current availability and final charges directly with GSCO. Membership is not required for GSCO registration. grandslamclub.org
GSCO registration does not replace SCI admission. The GSCO form specifies a paid SCI badge for access to its lounge and Friday and Saturday seminars within the SCI convention. SCI applies its own membership rules, including one non-member guest with paid registration per active member. Grand Slam Club
For the SCI exhibition, use SCI’s official registration page and select the attendance dates and additional events you actually need. Keep the two organizations’ confirmations together, but check each ticket’s inclusions separately.
Use the schedule links on the GSCO convention hub for updates. Before travel, verify session times, room assignments, banquet seating, and any requested attire. For unresolved GSCO questions, contact the organizer at (205) 674-0101 rather than relying on an older convention listing. Grand Slam Club

GSCO directs attendees to SCI’s official hotel arrangements. Use that page’s reservation links and telephone numbers, not unsolicited convention-housing offers. SCI currently identifies its Omni Nashville convention block as sold out and lists other nearby hotel options. Grand Slam Club
Check the complete stay before confirming a room. A reservation ending Sunday morning may not suit an itinerary that includes Sunday evening’s GSCO functions. Review cancellation conditions and whether your preferred rate covers the extra night.
Nashville International Airport (BNA) offers taxis, rideshare services, and rental cars. Rideshare pickups operate from the Ground Transportation Center on Level 1 of Terminal Garage 2; consult the airport’s current transportation instructions before arrival. Nashville International Airport | BNA
Leave a sensible margin between landing and your first commitment. For a full Sunday program, consider departure on Monday, January 25. Pack for walking between venues as well as evening functions, and check the forecast shortly before travel.
The Hunting Consortium will be exhibiting during the 2027 convention gathering. Our booth location, exhibition dates, and participating representatives remain to be confirmed.
Founded in 1985, THC works with serious sportsmen pursuing international big game, including mountain species and hunts requiring complex travel coordination. Our role encompasses species and destination selection, outfitter evaluation, and the preparation needed to carry a well-considered plan into the field. 2026 Annual Hunter’s Convention
At a convention, the most useful discussion often begins with a specific question: whether a destination fits the hunter, what the country requires, or how much preparation a pursuit demands. Our international hunting travel resources provide background for those conversations. Hunting Consortium
GSCO advertises January 23–24, 2027, with Super Sunday on January 24. The associated SCI convention runs January 20–23. Grand Slam Club
In Nashville, Tennessee. SCI identifies Music City Center for GSCO’s Sunday events and its Grand Ballroom, Level 4, for the dinner awards banquet. Check individual function locations. Safari Club International Convention
The organizations coordinate their convention activities, but registration and programming are not interchangeable. GSCO’s dedicated Sunday follows the close of SCI’s four-day exhibition. Safari Club International Convention
Use GSCO’s 2027 registration page to select banquet arrangements, then confirm availability and inclusions. Arrange SCI admission separately for activities requiring an SCI badge. grandslamclub.org
Start with the Schedule link on GSCO’s official convention hub. Recheck it before departure, particularly for seminar times, banquet details, and room assignments. Grand Slam Club
Yes. THC’s participation is confirmed in our event plans; the booth number, exhibition dates, and attending representatives will be added after confirmation.
Build your visit around the conversations and functions that matter to you. Confirm admission first, align your hotel stay with the full program, and leave time to participate without rushing from one commitment to the next.
Before departure, compare your arrangements with the organizers’ latest information. Keep Sunday distinct from the SCI exhibition dates, and verify the details of every separately ticketed function.
The Hunting Consortium looks forward to participating in Nashville and to a gathering grounded in informed conversation, responsible pursuit, and respect for wildlife.
